MINNEAPOLIS — A 32-year-old man has died after an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in the St. Paul suburb of Falcon Heights, CBS Minnesota reports.

Philando Castile’s mother says he died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

St. Anthony Police confirmed the shooting to the station.

Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her young daughter were in the car at the time.

Reynolds was in custody Wednesday night.

A video taken by Reynolds that was circulating on Facebook but has since been taken down appears to show the aftermath of the shooting. Copies of the video were posted on YouTube.

Reynolds, who was driving, says in the video she was pulled over for a broken tail light. She says police asked Castile, who was in the front passenger seat, for his license and registration.

She says that, as Castile was reaching for his wallet, he told officers he had a firearm in his possession, and a conceal-and-carry permit.
