Will The Black Fly Really Take Off?
Last week a startup backed by Google’s Larry Page called Opener exited its nine-year stealth mode and unveiled the Black Fly, a single-seat, all-electric personal Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft.
Called a ‘flying car’ by many in the press, the compact vehicle boasts a range of around 25-miles per charge, can be recharged in under half-an hour when paired with a compatible quick charging station, and is rumored to cost about the same as an average SUV.
But we’ve seen plenty of personal aircraft like this. Is the Black Fly different? And will it really take off?
